It's only one band, but cut two l/4 peices of wire and attach one to the center conductor and one to the shield. Put the entire thing in a big PVC T and your done! Just trim 2 the right SWR and mount the dipole vertically. 73 de N3RCS es gd DX ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 30 May 1994 06:27:45 GMT From: ihnp4.ucsd.edu!usc!cs.utexas.edu!utnut!torn!uunet.ca!uunet.ca!iceonline!icebox!janc@network.ucsd.edu Subject: 2m Yagi Gamma Match To: ham-ant@ucsd.edu I'm building a 4 element Yagi beam for portable use and am looking for plans for a good Gamma matching element. The beam is all metal with a 1" boom and 1/4" radials. I've built such beams before with a delta match, but this would be inappropriate in this situation since the beams will be used by youngsters and a delta match would be somewhat more susceptible to inadvertant damage by inexperienced users. Can anybody help? Also of great use would be dimensions for a gamma match for 440MHz using the same boom and element diameters. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ janc@icebox.iceonline.com : If you eat a live toad first thing in the : morning, nothing worse will happen to you all Fido: 1:153/7116 : day. For 10m, a dozen no. 73 beads (Amidon no. FB- > 73-2401) close to the antenna feed point should work. I achieved similar results on a six meter dipole once by wrapping the co-ax at the antenna end into a small coil about eight inches long wrapped around a piece of three inch plastic tubing. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6 Comment: jgrubs@voxbox.norden1.com (Jim Grubs) iQCVAgUBLefW4jDUWq8RWEeNAQGXrAP/TvnwmCyapiimBc0UllvqaoQFkZhfNWk4 QB95zMr3h82k3huIqJ7KOtnpa9+l4y9X5Mjtyq+o8xqf1x73LiSg25irRhhRb7Nf Dqby29LTVVRWBV356SJutuuKEkWkvLlxqh6RiwKP+LjvJsjkE3m8lincGZbrLIL3 A7V+OFo1cEs= =5d/0 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Jim Grubs, W8GRT Voxbox Enterprises THIS SPACE FOR RENT | | jgrubs@voxbox.norden1.com 6817 Maplewood Ave. RATES REASONABLE | | Fido: 1:234/1.0 Sylvania, Ohio 43560 Home: 419/882-2697 | | AMATEUR RADIO - The National Park of the Mind | +--------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ------------------------------ Date: 27 May 1994 09:22:48 -0700 From: ihnp4.ucsd.edu!library.ucla.edu!europa.eng.gtefsd.com!news.umbc.edu!eff!news.kei.com!ssd.intel.com!chnews!ornews.intel.com!ornews.intel.com!not-for-mail@network.ucsd.edu Subject: Dipole in the trees!
